Hack Your Task + Time Management Once And For All

If you’re a business owner in the Health, Perinatal, or Parenting space, I know after a day of helping your clients - you’re tired.

The work you do is mentally taxing, you’re an empathetic person, and very often, you’re overworked.

The Importance of Effective Task + Time Management

So, once you end your day, you don’t want to have to worry about all of the things that you didn’t get done. You’re past the point of wanting to work 7 days a week, even if it is on your business that you love.

You’re ready for some space so you can spend time doing what you love with the people who matter most. To do that, you need your time management locked in.

5 Essential Time Management Techniques

I’m going to give you 5 tips that you might incorporate into your daily life to tighten up your time - but the last one is a must.

1. Pomodoro Technique

Break your work into intervals (usually 25 minutes), followed by a short break. After four intervals, take a longer break.

2. Time Blocking

Allocate specific blocks of time to different tasks or categories of work. Multi-tasking is not the vibe.

3. Eisenhower Matrix

Prioritize tasks into four quadrants.

👉Urgent and important

👉Important but not urgent

👉Urgent but not important

👉Neither urgent nor important

4. Eat the Frog

Tackle the most challenging or important task first thing in the morning so it's done.

Okay.. this works lovely for some + terribly for others.

If the idea of starting with the most daunting task will lead you to not start at all, switch this around. (Names for this welcome haha). Start with something easy so you can gain some momentum, and then do the hard thing.

Work with your brain!

5. Batching

Group similar tasks together and complete them during designated time blocks to minimize context switching.

The Must-Have: A Task + Project Management System

Remember I said the last one was a non-negotiable? It truly is if you want a resource that is going to last and grow with you and your business.

The first five “hacks” are all icing on top of the cake.

  • Get crystal clear on your daily priorities (Ensuring those money-making, CEO-level tasks are getting done).

  • Have peace of mind that your business is organized and you’re in a position to grow and scale.

  • If applicable, collaborate efficiently with your team and utilize online service providers effectively.

Task + time management is crucial for growth

There are more and less exciting parts of being an entrepreneur. I fully understand that task + time management is low on the excitement factor. BUT, if you want to scale and grow your business - it’s something you need to revisit and get under wraps.

Time is our most precious resource, making the most of it is important! When you’re sitting down to work, you want to be productive and use that time effectively. (Catching up on work after bedtime or on the weekends because you weren’t productive during work time isn’t the vibe).

So, start with these tips. See what works best for you. If you don’t already have a task and project management system, download Asana and play around with it! And of course, if you want help to set it up as THE resource for your business, reach out! I’d love to help.

Hope this helps!
